To add Professional Planning Coordination Services to Licensee’s practice, Licensee must become a PPCS Licensee for each county in which Licensee wants to market the PPC Services. Licensee must then decide which one of the following Three PPCS License Types Licensee wants to acquire for each county in which Licensee wants to market PPC Services:
- TYPE I Non-Exclusive Territorially Restricted License. THE TYPE I PPC SERVICE LICENSE IS THE MOST COMMONLY ACQUIRED PPC SERVICES LICENSE, BECAUSE IT IS THE LEAST EXPENSIVE LICENSE AND IT PERMITS LICENSEE TO MARKET PPC SERVICES ON A NON-EXCLUSIVE, BUT TERRITORIALLY RESTRICTED BASIS.
The territorial restriction is the county for which the Licensee purchases a License. If Licensee wants to market PPC Services in two (2) or more counties, a separate license is required for each county in which Licensee will be marketing PPC Services. Licensee can deliver the PPC Service to any PPC Service client at any location, but Licensee can only market the PPC Services in the county for which PPCS has issued a License to Licensee.
- TYPE II* Non-Exclusive Territorially Restricted License with a “Right of First Refusal” and an “Option” to Convert to a Type III Exclusive License. THE TYPE II LICENSE IS IDENTICAL TO THE TYPE I LICENSE WITH THE FOLLOWING DIFFERENCES:
The Type II and Type III Licenses are exclusive to Licensee’s profession (i.e. Attorney, CPA or Fee Only RIA) in Licensee’s county. Licensor retains the continuing right to issue PPC Service Licenses to Licensees of a different profession, but for the same county. This PPC Service License grants Licensee the continuing “Right to Convert” the Type II License to a Type III License. Licensee also has the “Right of First Refusal” to convert to a Type III License before PPCS can issue a Type III License to another like professional in that county.
- TYPE III* An Exclusive Territorially Restricted License. THE TYPE III PPC SERVICE GRANTS LICENSEE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO MARKET PPC SERVICES IN HIS/HER COUNTY, SPECIFIALLY FOR HIS OR HER PROFESSION. ONCE PPCS ISSUES ONE (1) TYPE III LICENSE TO A LICENSEE (EXAMPLE, AN ATTORNEY) FOR A SPECIFIC COUNTY, LICENSOR CAN NO LONGER ISSUE TYPE I, II OR III LICENSES TO ANY ATTORNEY IN THAT SAME COUNTY.
